brick lane by Ambar Gomez

We arrive at the Aldgate East tube station, from the description given to us by the underground attendant, we thought we had taken the wrong exit because it seemed nothing like the description he had given us. We walked down a street with endless selections of Indian cuisine, a man at each door offering you a slightly better deal than the guy before him. After a few wrong turns we finally made it to Brick Lane.

Each turn we made after that led to a variety of trendy vintage stores filled with endless selections of fantastic worn-in leathers boots & purses and plenty of things that you don’t really need, but you just gotta have. The area is filled with mostly young artist students, so there are great little surprising art pieces everywhere as well as amazing student shows that you can walk into and check out.

The walls of the streets were filled with graffiti but it only added the charming character of Brick Lane. The walls themselves became public art.
