letterpress by Kristine Edinchikyan

The only bad thing that I could say about the letterpress is that I was dissapointed that we had to leave. Every moment we spent there i wanted to stay even longer just to keep creating new designs. It was so interesting to be able to work with your hands rather than just arranging letters on a blank canvas on a computer program. It felt great to have a hands on experience putting something together, even though we did get (very) dirty in the process. We spent the first two days with our partners trying to figure out a design for our London 2010 posters. Me and Kim had a strong concept to begin with so we worked together to come up with a poster that would convey that. When we finalized our idea we were able to begin working on the letterpress machine in order to create our posters. The letterpress machine was very heavy to use, especially since we had to put each poster through it 4 times, but it was so much fun to see our work come out from it that it was very well worth the hard labor.
