Dusk till Dawn Photo Expedition by Jenn Nassef

It wasn't until 10:30pm that we planned to set out on a photographic excursion that commenced at dusk and proceeded until dusk. We set out on foot, and shortly after our departure nature decided to accompany us on our adventure. At first I thought the rain would hinder our experience of the city life after hours, but as the London lights reflected off the cobblestone puddles I found it an exceptionally beautiful aspect.

Although the night sky covered the city's building like a black, velvet blanket, a full spectrum of colors illuminated the air. To my surprise the streets were occupied by neon signs and flashing lights, but the air remained quite calm and still. It was a surreal scene of London that was most intriguing to capture photographically.
For hours we roamed the city in search of a "24-hour" pub located in a more urbanized region of London that significantly resembled that of downtown LA, as well as a 4am flea market in the labyrinth of London that consisted primarily of a diverse collection of metal spoons.
It is difficult to express in words how a city transforms from day to night. Although we hit a few obstacles along the way, it was truly an inspirational experience walking the streets of London as the sun began to peek along the horizon. The sky itself was a surreal visual experience that portrayed an electrifying glow of unreal texture. Overall, the dark streets of London bestowed upon us an invigorating, peaceful experience.
